Visitors will be able to view the original Emancipation Proclamation, on loan from the National Archives, from Sept. 22-25. This limited showing of one of the nation's most treasured documents will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, both of which were defining moments in civil rights history.

Due to popularity of this exhibit and the highly anticipated showing of the Emancipation Proclamation, visitors will need to reserve their space to view the document. You can reserve space beginning August 1, 2007 by calling (501) 244-2856, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

The Proclamation is on view the following dates and hours:

Saturday September 22, 2007 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday September 23, 2007 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Monday September 24, 2007 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday September 25, 2007 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

School groups are encouraged to attend and can reserve space to view the Emancipation Proclamation by calling (501) 244-2856 beginning August 1.
