President Clinton visited six African nations July 17-23, 2005 to focus
attention on the AIDS crisis in Africa and the fact that many nations are in
peril, unless the epidemic can be reversed. Each day about 6,000 Africans die
from AIDS, and another 11,000 are infected, according to the United Nations.
