Recognizing President Clinton’s commitment to the environment, the Center was designed by Polshek Partnership to feature sustainable buildings that emphasize state of the art strategies for water savings, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.

In 2004, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded the Clinton Presidential Center a Silver LEED award for its green building practices. The Center is the first LEED-certified presidential library in the nation, as well as the first building in the state of Arkansas to earn a LEED certification. You can see the building's list of green features below, or click here.

On September 30, 2005 the Clinton Presidential Center offered its first guided “Green” tour highlighting these features of the Clinton Library. Led by the Center’s staff of volunteer docents, visitors enjoyed tours which highlighted a selection of unique environmental design features of the museum building.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to highlight the environmental aspects of our building,” said Lena Moore, Director of Volunteer and Visitor Services for the Clinton Foundation. “Green tours are a chance to see the Clinton Center from a whole new perspective.”

Green Tours for a group of 20 or more are available by appointment. Arrangements should be made at least 14 days in advance by filling out our online form or by calling the Office of Volunteer and Visitor Services at (501) 748-0419. Please note that completing the online form does not constitute a tour reservation. Someone from the Office of Volunteer and Visitor Services will call you back to set up your tour.
