How Does It Work?
Ever wonder why your utility bills are higher than your neighbors' bills, or exactly where those dollars are going? These are the types of questions that an in-home energy assessment can answer.
To enroll in the HEAL AR program, you'll need to submit a short intake form along with copies of your last 12 monthly utility bills (gas and electric) before your in-home energy assessment can be scheduled. We use this information to calibrate our home energy assessment software, and keep it completely confidential.
Once you enroll in the HEAL AR program and provide utility information, you will be scheduled for a free in-home energy assessment. This comprehensive exploration of your home will provide the information needed to analyze the home's energy efficiency. During the visit, a trained Energy Coach will ask you about home comfort issues, current energy usage, and then measure over 250 elements in your home. The whole process is short and comfortable, and takes 2-4 hours.
The measurement process takes the Energy Team everywhere in your house-attic, basement, each living space-to look at everything that affects energy usage. This includes appliances, heating/cooling equipment, attic/wall insulation, windows and duct systems; they even count the number of light bulbs!
