The Landscape Designer

Primary features of the park include upper and lower riverfront promenades that provide views of and access to the Arkansas River, an arrival plaza, grassy gathering spaces and a multi-use amphitheater, a children’s play area, sweeping river and terrace gardens, a grove of trees native to Arkansas, and lawns that stretch to the river. The plan envisions the new Library and Museum buildings set amidst a large, public riverfront park with sloping lawns, festival spaces, and both public and private thematic gardens.

The site can accommodate an endless variety of formal and casual events. These activities and events range from large gatherings hosted by the Center and the City of Little Rock to opportunities for urban fishing and wildlife study, temporary outdoor sculpture installations, art festivals, and everyday recreational pursuits for local residents and visitors alike.
