Making Politics Personal: The Story of the Arkansas Travelers
Opens January 27, 2013
When then-Governor Bill Clinton decided to run for President of the United States, a small group of supporters banded together and formed a grassroots organization and set out to travel the country to share their enthusiasm about their governor. The Arkansas Travelers were committed to building a nation-wide network of support for the Clinton/Gore campaign of 1992. Their efforts were substantial and effective and they re-engaged their efforts again in 1996. To celebrate their part in history, the Clinton Center welcomes a temporary display created in their honor.
"Political Magic: The Travels, Trials, and Triumphs of the Clintons' Arkansas Travelers"
The "Making Politics Personal: The Story of the Arkansas Travelers" display accompanies a new book by Brenda Blagg, "Political Magic: The Travels, Trials, and Triumphs of the Clintons' Arkansas Travelers." With an introduction by President Bill Clinton, "Political Magic" explores how Bill Clinton's friends helped their small state's governor become the leader of the free world. The book is available for pre-order at the Clinton Museum Store and available starting January 24, 2013. Click here for more information.
