Nature Unleashed
June 19 - September 6, 2010
Nature Unleashed: Earthquakes & Hurricanes investigates what we know and are still learning about nature's terrifying power by focusing on disasters - hurricanes and earthquakes.
This exhibition is based upon the exhibition "Nature Unleashed: Inside Natural Disasters," created by The Field Museum, Chicago.
Other Highlights of the Exhibit:
In partnership with the Louisiana State Museum, the Center will showcase artifacts from their new exhibit, Living with Hurricanes: Katrina and Beyond. The artifacts will be on view at the Center beginning July 3 through September 6.
Living with Hurricanes: Katrina and Beyond opens in New Orleans on October 26, 2010 on the ground floor of the historic Presbytere in the French Quarter's Jackson Square. The exhibit tells the stories of real people caught in the hurricane's wrath. It tells of their rescue, recovery, rebuilding and renewal in a way certain to move both: those who survived the storms of 2005 and those who watched the events unfold on TV.
