1. Position/Title: Writer
Location: New York (Midtown)
Description:
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Writer is responsible for creating a full
range of copy that is used in all activities, including printed materials and
brochures, the CGI annual report, press releases, descriptions of our programs
and areas of focus (e.g. poverty, climate change, etc.), correspondence and
form letters, advertising materials, and online.
In addition to the writing responsibilities, the Writer will be involved in
the full range of CGI Marketing Communication departmental responsibilities.
This position offers good opportunities for career growth and participation
in the dynamic work of former President Clinton’s foundation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute writing needs for all CGI departments.
- Maintain overall style and voice of CGI across all printed and online materials.
- Stay informed about organizations activities and priorities.
- Research relevant topics related to CGI in order to contextualize the work
of CGI in the broader international development and philanthropic arenas.
- Update style guide and ensure that all written materials correspond to the
CGI style.
Minimum Requirements:

2. Position/Title: Commitment Portfolio Manager
Location: New York (Midtown)
Description:
The Commitment Portfolio Manager will be part of the CGI Commitments Department.
The Commitment Department is responsible for establishing and executing the
strategy for developing new commitments from members. This department is also
responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of ongoing commitments,
servicing diverse requests from existing and past members who have made commitments,
and providing the content for CGI external communications about commitments.
The Commitment Portfolio Manager (the “Manager”) will oversee the
management of existing commitments (approaching 1000 by end of 2007). The Manager
will have primary responsibility for CGI member commitment monitoring and reporting,
and collection and analysis of commitment data for program evaluation and external
communication purposes. In addition, the Manager will help develop and implement
a strategy for partnership services for the growing community of existing commitment
makers. The department also provides a research function for commitment development,
providing background research for commitment development. In this capacity she/he
will have responsibility to develop policies, practices and systems to support
these critical activities. To achieve this, the Manager will oversee a team
of 4 staff as well several interns.
Responsibilities include:
Management of commitment portfolio
- Develop and manage the team’s overall strategy and procedures for
CGI’s ongoing relationship management with existing commitment-makers
- Respond to a range of inquiries from existing commitment-makers
- Assess needs of commitment-makers and direct them to appropriate CGI resources,
as applicable
- Working with the Commitment Director and other commitment staff, help develop
and manage an approach to member services related to ongoing commitments
Collection and management of information about commitments
- Working closely with other CGI staff and Working Group teams, to manage
the development and implementation of a robust information management system
for commitments that addresses a variety of CGI needs including relationship
management, evaluation, best practice information and communications.
- Working closely with the Commitment Development team, Working Groups, and
Members to manage the creation and update of commitment records and the overall
integrity of the commitment database
- Working closely with the Communications Department, ensure that commitment
information on the member and public websites are consistent with the commitment
database
- Oversee the response to internal and external requests for commitment information
and data analysis for member outreach, commitment development, communications,
strategic planning and other management purposes
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Analysis
- Oversee the development and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation
methodology that enables assessment of CGI’s impact and effectiveness,
and the progress and impact of member commitments
- Enhance CGI’s ability to perform more in-depth quantitative and qualitative
analysis of commitments in order to identify and communicate best practices
- Oversee research about issues and organizations that would support the efforts
of the commitment department to engage in discussions with members and potential
about commitment development
- Work closely with other CGI staff responsible for developing communications
products and platforms about commitments
Minimum Requirements:
College degree required, Master’s degree highly desirable. Minimum of
five years experience in general project management and/or policy (public health,
education, poverty alleviation OR climate change). The successful candidate
is required to have strong knowledge of the international development field
and/or successful management and implementation of programs in the non-profit,
government, or private sector. The candidate would have ideally strong research,
information management and communications skills. Experience with evaluation
methodology also desirable. Strong team-building skills are essential and ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

3. Position/Title: Desktop Support
Location: New York, NY
The William J. Clinton Foundation Desktop Support will have a clear understanding
of the business value of IT and proficiency in utilizing technical expertise
to provide complex technical support (daily and on-call) for desktops, laptops,
Blackberry devices, network systems, phone systems and applications. She/he
will exhibit excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
This position will report directly to the William J. Clinton Foundation’s Director
of Information Technology & Information Systems based in New York.
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to work independently and
unsupervised as well as in a team-oriented environment. Must be customer service
and client satisfaction oriented.
Qualifications Required:
- Extensive knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Windows 2000 & XP Professional.
- Extensive knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office 2003.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory.

Experience Required:

4. Position/Title: Commitment Resources Senior
Associate
The Commitment Resources Senior Associate will be part of the CGI Commitments
Department and overtime is likely to manage at least one full-time staff member
and several interns. The Commitment Department is responsible for establishing
and executing the strategy for developing new commitments from members. This
department is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress
of ongoing commitments, servicing diverse requests from existing and past members
who have made commitments, and providing the content for CGI external communications
about commitments.
The Commitment Resources Senior Associate will have primary responsibility
for helping to develop, in collaboration with other CGI departments, materials
and platforms for conveying information about commitments to diverse audiences
including, in particular, internal management, CGI members, media and others.
She/he would also play a critical role in translating commitment information
into useful products that help members and broader audiences understand the
diverse approaches to commitment-making. The Commitment Resources Senior Associate
will also be responsible for the logistics associated with engaging commitment
makers in CGI events.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides the commitment content for a variety of communications products
associated with CGI
- Works closely with other CGI staff to craft analyses and reports that describe
the CGI portfolio of commitments and the progress/impact of commitments and
identifies best practices among the growing body of commitments.
- Develops strategic alliances with professional services firms as well as
members with special expertise to see if they could be a helpful resource
to commitment makers
- Develops useful print and web-based materials and content for members that
will enhance their ability to understand the commitment-making process, develop
commitments and identify potential partners
- Develop interactive platforms that highlight the work of commitment makers
and support the commitment development process (i.e. possibly, for example,
tele-convenings and webinars)
- Identify opportunities for commitment-maker recognition
- Manage commitment aspects of event logistics throughout the year, including
preparing members for and staging of commitment announcements at the annual
meeting.
Minimum Requirements:
College degree is required, master’s degree welcomed. Minimum of three
to five years experience in general project management and/or policy (public

is required to have strong knowledge of the international development field

5. Position/Title: Commitment Development Senior
Manager
The Commitments Department has the primary responsibility for establishing
and executing the strategy for helping CGU members develop new commitments.
It works closely with the external expert consultants (Working Group chairs
and deputies) to develop commitments. The Commitment Development Senior Manager
will manage relationships with CGI members, educating and guiding them through
the commitment development process and helping them to identify partners as
appropriate. She/he will also collect and analyze commitment data for program
evaluation and external communication purposes.
Responsibilities Include:
Commitment Development:
- Work closely with the Commitments Director and Working Group Chairs and
Deputies to establish annual performance targets, commitment outreach strategy,
and commitment development methodology
- Work closely with other staff in department and CGI to develop effective
outreach materials
- Research and vet potential CGI members who present strong prospects for
commitments generation.
- Oversee and manage department’s outreach to members who are expected
to make commitments
- Respond to inquiries from commitment-makers in a timely, professional fashion
- Advise CGI members as they develop their commitments in accordance with
criteria established by the Commitments Department
- Broker partnerships between members
Information Management and Communications
- Work with Working Groups and other CGI staff to implement an effective
approach to information management related to commitments to ensure effective
customer service and to enable the tracking of commitment progress and impacts
over time
- Help develop and implement an approach to assessing the performance of
the commitment development function
- Create and update commitment case records consistent with the needs and
protocol of the Commitments Department
- Work closely with other Commitments Department staff to develop an approach
to reporting both qualitative and quantitative data about commitments that
generate deeper understanding among members and the broader public about the
nature and impact of commitments
- Work closely with other staff in the Commitments Department and the Communications
team at CGI and the Clinton Foundation to produce publications and materials
about commitments to support media outreach
Program Planning and Logistics
- Work closely with the CGI Programming Department to ensure that opportunities
for catalyzing and showcasing commitments are maximized
- Manage the showcasing of new commitments at CGI events
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree required. Minimum of five to seven years experience in
general project management and/or policy (public health, education, poverty
alleviation or climate change/sustainability). The successful candidate is required
to have strong knowledge of the international development field and successful
management of teams and implementation of programs in the non-profit, government,
or private sector. Work experience is desirable in developing countries. Event
planning experience welcomed but not required. Knowledge of Excel and basic
statistics required; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or other relational data
bases) preferred but not required. Experience in developing and managing relationships
with diverse groups/environments and individuals.

6. Position/Title: Commitments Database Coordinator
The Commitments Database Coordinator will be part of the CGI Commitments Department.
The Commitment Department is responsible for establishing and executing the
strategy for developing new commitments from members. This department is also
responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of ongoing commitments,
servicing diverse requests from existing and past members who have made commitments,
and providing the content for CGI external communications about commitments.
The Commitments Database Coordinator ‘s primary responsibilities will
be to collect commitment data submitted by commitment-makers for program evaluation
and external communication purposes. Database coordinator is critical member
of the team, helping to ensure that the commitments information in the system
is accurate and useful to the department and the whole organization. In addition,
the Database Coordinator must be able to coordinate Commitments Department data
policies with the CGI-wide Database Manager. He/she must be able to create own
work plan and execute with little guidance in a quick pace environment.
Responsibilities Include:
Management of commitments data
- Manage the effective collection of commitments-related data from a variety
of sources
- Creation of commitment case records consistent with the needs and protocol
of the Commitments Department
- Maintain, clean-up and update Commitments records
- Export commitments records to CGI website
Generating reports on CGI impact and effectiveness
- Create periodic reports using quantitative data about commitments generated
by CGI members to assess the performance of CGI and the impact of member commitments
- Perform analyses of data that will be useful in understanding the nature,
progress and impact of member commitments
- Design new data queries as needed
Commitments Department
- Design and implement training for new Commitment staff members and interns
who use Razor’s Edge
- Write and update documentation of data entry and reporting protocols; produce
procedures manuals
- Develop and enforce policy on the proper use of RE database
- Act as principal liaison with users in reviewing needs and recommending
solutions to Database Manager for database enhancements
- Provide RE support to Commitments staff

Minimum Requirements:
College degree is required. Minimum of two to four years experience in data
management (Raiser’s Edge or, alternatively, extensive practice working
with other relational databases). It is also desirable for the candidate to
have an interest in international development and some experience in a non-profit

7. Position/Title: Commitment Portfolio Associate
The Commitment Portfolio Associate part of the CGI Commitments Department.
The Commitment Department is responsible for establishing and executing the
strategy for developing new commitments from members. This department is also
responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of ongoing commitments,
servicing diverse requests from existing and past members who have made commitments,
and providing the content for CGI external communications about commitments.
The Commitment Portfolio Associate will manage relationships with CGI commitment-makers—
including current and past members— regarding their commitments as they
develop over time. The Commitment Portfolio Associate will be responsible for
soliciting progress reports, news updates, impact data, and information about
potential partnership opportunities about on-going commitments. The Commitment
Portfolio Associate will also be responsible for verifying the completion or
update of commitments, and provide both qualitative and quantitative periodic
reports about the status of all or specific commitments, for internal use or
external communications.
Responsibilities include:
Management of commitment portfolio
- Respond to a range of inquiries from existing commitment-makers
- Work with members to help them identify potential partners and resources
that would enable them to implement their commitments
- Work with others in department on outreach to members who have yet to make
their required commitment
- Implement outreach to members (current and past) soliciting progress report
about commitments.
Collection and management of data about commitments
- Working closely with the other commitment department staff, to create and
update commitment records and maintain the overall integrity of the commitment
database

- Minimum of 2 years post-college work experience.
- Education or experience in International development or the sustainability
field.
- Knowledge of Excel, basic statistics and Raiser’s Edge required.
