Employee Spotlight

Whether continuing after business school, applying public health skills and experience, or transitioning from an established career in the corporate sector, our staff members come from all backgrounds and have an impressive range of abilities and interests. Despite their wide-ranging differences, our employees come to CHAI for one reason: they are passionate about our mission. As a result, our teams are strengthened by the extensive and complimentary skill-sets of each individual and by the universal commitment to the work.

Meet one of CHAI’s many bright, dedicated employees profiled below.

Dr. Mphu Ramatlapeng

Dr. Mphu Ramatlapeng was CHAI's Country Director in Lesotho from October 2005 until her appointment as the Minister of Health and Social Welfare for Lesotho in February 2007. In her new position Mphu will strengthen the Ministry of Health's collaboration with the Clinton Foundation and scale up the roll out of ARVs to remote rural communities— a process she started while at the Clinton Foundation.

Mphu was born in Lesotho, studied medicine at Kharkov Medical School in Ukraine, and later obtained a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. After completing her education she returned to Lesotho where she worked in a number of positions in the public and private sectors before joining the Clinton Foundation. Read more.
